About the Firm

At Harris Beach, we work hard to ensure we live up to our firm’s vision: “Client Solutions that Exceed Expectations.”

Harris Beach is proud to be leading a community-based effort to strengthen the support of veterans reintegration in central New York.  The firm formed a not-for-profit organization called Veterans Reintegration Resources of Central New York and developed a website (www.cnyvets.org) to serve as directory of resources that gives veterans and their families a single source of information to the variety of services available in support of successful reintegration.

This effort is the result of the Voices Together Summit held at Le Moyne College in the fall of 2009 and sponsored by Harris Beach.  The summit was a first-of-its kind that brought together area veterans and their families, and service providers, with the goal of identifying service needs and gaps for veterans successful reintegration in central New York.  The summit focused on Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom veterans and their families. The summit featured an interactive process to hear first hand from veterans, families, and service providers in the region, identified service needs, and proposed solutions for mobilizing community support.

Harris Beach has a long and proud history of serving the communities in which it practices. We place a high value on community service and encourage our attorneys and administrative personnel to participate in charitable efforts they feel strongly about. Our approach to community service works on several levels. While we contribute as a firm through sponsorships and financial contributions to a myriad of non-profit organizations and cultural institutions in each of our communities, individuals also contribute their time by serving on the boards of community and professional organizations.

Our lawyers are engaged in a variety of pro bono matters at the federal, state and local courts representing clients who otherwise could not afford a lawyer. For this effort, many of our lawyers have been recognized by the federal courts, the New York State Bar Association, and local bar associations with pro bono awards. They have also been recognized for giving of their time assisting charitable organizations with pro bono legal services.

Many of the firm’s attorneys and staff initiate “grass roots” campaigns by coaching youth sports teams and organizing fundraisers to support charitable organizations. Our grass roots campaigns are among our most recognized efforts because participation enables individuals to take ownership of an activity and allows them to pursue their own interests outside of the office. We organize teams for participation in fundraising walks and rally behind personal causes that may benefit families in need. Each of our offices selects organizations as “adopted charities” for the purpose of focusing support on those organizations. In addition to supporting these organizations through firm contributions, many of our attorneys and administrators volunteer their time at these organizations.

We are first and foremost residents of our communities with a diversity of interests.

The vitality of our communities is dependent upon the involvement of its residents and the diversity of its citizens. Our most valuable resource at Harris Beach is our people, and we believe that our communities benefit when tapping into that resource.
