Kenneth J. Ringler Joins the Corporate Strategy team of HB Solutions LLC, a Consulting Affiliate of Harris Beach Served as Executive Director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and Commissioner of the New York State Office of General Services
Albany, New York … Kenneth J. Ringler, former Executive Director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and former Commissioner of the New York State Office of General Services, has joined the Corporate Strategy team of HB Solutions LLC, a consulting affiliate of the Harris Beach PLLC law firm, as team leader and senior business advisor in the Albany and New York City offices. Mr. Ringler consults with clients on a wide range of state and local government issues, and establishing best practices for conducting business with government. This consulting includes compliance with procurement contracts and related issues. Prior to joining HB Solutions LLC, Mr. Ringler had an extensive career in state and local government. Mr. Ringler was appointed Executive Director of The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on October 21, 2004. He also served as President to the Port Authority’s subsidiaries. As Executive Director of the Port Authority, Mr. Ringler was responsible for a budget of more than $5 billion and oversaw approximately 7,000 employees at the agency. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is a bi-state agency that operates more than 30 facilities in two states. The Port Authority’s facilities include the World Trade Center, John F. Kennedy International, Newark Liberty International, LaGuardia and Teterboro airports, Stewart Airport, AirTrain JFK, AirTrain Newark, the George Washington Bridge, the Lincoln and Holland tunnels, three bridges in Staten Island, the Port of New York and New Jersey and the Port Authority Trans-Hudson rapid transit rail system. Prior to joining the Port Authority, Mr. Ringler was Commissioner of the New York State Office of General Services, where he was responsible for the management of an office that delivers diverse support services to all state agencies, including leasing, design and construction, information technology, procurement services, inter-agency mail services, and more. The Office of General Services provides architectural, engineering and construction management services involving approximately 10,000 state buildings at more than 850 locations statewide; building management, energy saving operations, and maintenance services to 50 major office complexes and buildings statewide; and oversees the procurement of more than $2 billion worth of supplies, materials and equipment annually as well as service and technology contracts for all state agencies, participating local governments, and others authorized by law. From May 1999 through March 2001, Mr. Ringler served as Executive Deputy Commissioner at the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, where he was responsible for all divisions within the Department. Previously, Mr. Ringler was First Deputy Secretary of State where was responsible for all divisions of the Department of State. On behalf of the Secretary of State, Mr. Ringler served as the Chairman of the Emergency Financial Control Board for the City of Yonkers. Before joining state government service, Mr. Ringler had an extensive career in local government and business. He was the Supervisor of the Town of Bethlehem in Albany County from 1990-1993, after having served as Chairman of the Town’s Planning Board from 1988-1989. He has served on numerous boards and received several awards for community service. He currently serves on the boards of the Albany Symphony Orchestra and Woodlandhill Montessori School. In the private sector, Mr. Ringler is a former business owner in Delmar and has been honored by his community as Business Person of the Year. Mr. Ringler holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from Siena College. He resides in Feura Bush with his wife, Marty DeLaney.
