The law firm of Harris Beach is pleased to announce that Patrick M. Malgieri has joined the firm as a partner in the Public Finance & Economic Development and Commercial Real Estate Practice Groups and the Financial Institutions & Capital Markets Team.
“Pat has extensive experience in municipal law and in municipal, commercial real estate and corporate financings and transactions,” said James A. Spitz, Jr., Harris Beach CEO. “His experience is a significant asset to our firm as we continue to meet client demands to expand upon our public finance and real estate practices.”
Mr. Malgieri said: “Harris Beach is well-recognized throughout New York state for its representation of municipalities, quasi-governmental agencies, developers and lending institutions. The firm provides me with an excellent platform upon which to expand my practice state-wide.”
Since 1983, Mr. Malgieri has been engaged in public finance as bond counsel, underwriter’s and private placement agent’s counsel, letter of credit issuer’s counsel, trustee’s counsel and special transaction counsel. He has been listed in the "The Bond Buyer's Municipal Marketplace" (commonly known as the "Red Book") of nationally-recognized bond counsel for over 20 years. Mr. Malgieri has a strong background in New York municipal law, serving as counsel and special counsel to several localities and authorities. He has extensive experience with infrastructure projects involving water and sewer system improvements.
Mr. Malgieri’s practice also involves commercial real estate and real estate finance, representing real estate developers, investors and commercial lending institutions. He has also represented a number of lending institutions and borrowers in connection with secured and unsecured commercial loans. Mr. Malgieri is a member of the New York State and Monroe County Bar Associations, the National Association of Bond Lawyers, and the New York State Government Finance Officers’ Association. He serves on the board of directors for the Urban League of Greater Rochester, the Urban League of Greater Rochester Economic Development Corporation, and Corn Hill Navigation. Mr. Malgieri is vice president of the Rochester Historical Society and a member of the advisory board and past president of the Center for Youth Services.
Mr. Malgieri holds a JD from Cornell University and BA, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from the College of the Holy Cross.
