The Albany area has been ranked by Forbes Magazine, Inc. Magazine, and other business related publications as among the top metro areas to launch a business. Albany's high-tech initiative, known as Tech Valley, spans an 19-county region from Plattsburgh to north of New York City. More than 1,000 high-tech companies are generating $5 billion into the region's economy. Harris Beach provides legal services for these growing enterprises as well as for well-established organizations. Our Albany office provides clients with a full complement of legal services and the resources of a state-wide firm. Our attorneys represent a number of municipalities and contractors in various construction claims, commercial real estate development initiatives, and general litigation matters. They are involved in industrial development initiatives and public finance and economic development projects throughout the region. Harris Beach attorneys appear on behalf of clients before state and federal courts as well as administrative agencies. The practice group leader of the firm's Energy and Telecommunications Industry Teams is resident in Albany. He is the former chairman of the New York State Public Service Commission and a former president of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. Also resident in our Albany and Saratoga Springs offices is the co-practice group leader of the firm's Government Compliance and Investigations team. He served as Executive Director of the New York State Ethics Commission.
