Bridgette Y. Ahn
Associate
Ms. Ahn is an associate of the firm and a member of the Intellectual Property Law Practice Group. She also serves on the Medical and Life Sciences Industry Team and the e-infosm Electronic Information Counseling and Management Team. Ms. Ahn’s experience includes working as an associate in the New York City office of a globally based general practice firm. She has represented clients in litigations through trial and in appellate court proceedings in various federal district courts, the United States International Trade Commission, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Her litigation and intellectual property matters have involved pharmaceutical drug products, three-dimensional imaging devices in the medical, orthodontic, and electrical arts, semiconductor devices, software applications, global positioning systems technologies, database management systems, e-commerce and Internet based applications, computer networking systems, computer memory systems, financial and business method patents, encryption software, and telecommunications devices. In medical and pharmaceutical matters, Ms. Ahn leverages her pre-med training obtained at the University of California at Berkeley.
As electronic discovery counsel, Ms. Ahn combines her legal experience and computer science training in programming and database operations and management. She assists clients with all phases of information management as it relates to the development of document management strategies and policies, document preservation and litigation holds, discovery conferences, discovery of Electronically Stored Information (“ESI”), collection, processing, privilege and responsiveness reviews, and production of documents, search criteria, and sampling of electronic documents for pre-litigation assessments.
Previously, Ms. Ahn was a judicial intern to Judge Harold Baer, Jr. of the Southern District of New York and Chief Judge Edward J. Damich of the United States Court of Federal Claims, and a law clerk to Judge Mark M. Russello of the Bergen County Justice Center. She has also mediated a number of civil cases to settlement for the State of New Jersey.
Professional & Community Activities
Ms. Ahn is a member of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association (Amicus Briefs Committee) and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. She is the co-author of the article, “Legislation Proposes Pilot Program toward Development of Specialized District Court Judges,” published in the New York Law Journal, December 4, 2006. Some of Ms. Ahn’s prior pro bono engagements included assisting the ACLU in federal court litigation and working as a Special Assistant District Attorney for the New York County District Attorney’s Office and the King’s County District Attorney’s Office.
