Chandy Z. Kemp
Senior Counsel

Ms. Kemp is senior counsel to the firm and practices in the Commercial Real Estate Practice Group and serves on the Financial Institutions and Capital Markets, Real Estate Developers, and Educational Institutions Industry Teams.  Her practice focuses on commercial transactions, real estate law, debtor/creditor relations, and public finance.  Ms. Kemp drafts, reviews, analyzes and negotiates a wide variety of commercial contracts and also assists with dispute resolution.  She represents lenders and developers in closing real estate acquisitions and construction projects; advises individuals and business clients in the formation, acquisition and re-organization of business entities; and assists municipalities in the issuance of general obligation bonds.

Professional & Community Activities

Ms. Kemp is a member of the American, New York State, Massachusetts, and Monroe County Bar Associations, the Greater Rochester Association of Women Attorneys, and the New York State Economic Development Council. She is a member of the board and founding director of Justice for Children G.L.O.W. Foundation, Inc. She is also a member of the board of directors of the Small Business Council of Rochester and Mercy Residential Services. Ms. Kemp is a Girl Scout troop leader and volunteers for Junior Achievement, Genesee County Adults with Developmental Disabilities, and has participated in the Monroe County Bar Association’s Lawyers for Learning project. She is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Genesee and a 2008 recipient of the Rochester Business Journal’s "Forty Under 40" award.
