David P. Martin

Mr. Martin is a member of the firm and practices in the Financial Restructuring, Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights and Business and Commercial Litigation Practice Groups. He also serves on the Financial Institutions and Capital Markets Industry Team. Mr. Martin has extensive experience in all areas of commercial and civil litigation, foreclosures and receiverships, workouts and creditor's rights matters in both state and federal courts. He represents a broad range of national, international and local lending institutions, individuals and corporate clients in commercial litigation, foreclosures and commercial and residential real estate transactions.
Mr. Martin was a founding partner of the Syracuse-based law firm Martin, Martin & Woodard LLC and practiced there for 25 years prior to merging with Harris Beach in 2004.
Mr. Martin is qualified by the Chief Judge, Office of Court Administration, as a Receiver, Counsel to Receiver and Referee.
Professional & Community Activities
Mr. Martin is a member of the American, New York State, and Onondaga County Bar Associations. He lectures for the New York State Bar Association on commercial and residential foreclosures and receiverships.
Mr. Martin is a retired Captain in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He served 12 years on the Fayetteville-Manlius School Board where he served as the Board's President (2001-03) and Vice President (1999-2001). He is also a member and Past Commodore of the Henderson Harbor Yacht Club. Mr. Martin was a founder and currently serves as Treasurer of the FM Community Sports Facility Association, a qualified 501(c)(3) organization.
