Kevin L. Overton
Associate
Mr. Overton is an associate of the firm and practices in the Commercial Real Estate Practice Group and serves on the Real Estate Developers, Educational Institutions and Financial Institutions and Capital Markets Industry Teams.
He has experience negotiating, reviewing and drafting commercial purchase and sale agreements, leases, construction and mortgage loan documents, and other real estate related agreements.
His clients include local real estate developers, investors, municipal entities, not-for-profits, local development corporations, lending institutions and educational institutions. He also represents landlords and tenants in office, retail, industrial and ground lease transactions.
Since joining the firm, Mr. Overton has successfully structured, negotiated, documented and closed transactions involving shopping centers, office buildings, hotels, mixed-used condominiums, health care facilities and other retail and commercial projects.
Mr. Overton also has experience drafting offering plans for condominiums and homeowners associations.
Professional & Community Activities
Mr. Overton is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the association’s Real Property Section, and theMonroe County Bar Association where he serves as immediate past-chairman of the association’s Real Estate Council. He is also a member of the Monroe County Bar Association’s Realtor/Bar Committee. Mr. Overton is a member of the Rochester General Hospital Foundationwhere he serves as secretary and also serves on its Executive, Finance, and By-laws Committee and is a member of the Upstate New York Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. In 2011, Mr. Overton was selected as one of Rochester’s Up and Coming Attorneys by The Daily Record and one of Rochester’s 40 Under 40 African-American Leaders by Messenger Post Media. He is also a 2011 recipient of the RochesterBusiness Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award, awarded annually to a select group of young leaders that have made a significant civic and professional contribution to the Rochester community.
