Kimberly A. Swetland
Director of Administration - Tri-State Area

Ms. Swetland is the regional director of administration at Harris Beach for the firm’s New York City, White Plains, Long Island, Newark, New Jersey and New Haven, Connecticut offices.  She is also a member of the firm’s subsidiary HB Solutions.  Ms. Swetland’s administration of regional office operations includes financial management (budgeting, expense management, profitability, billing and collections); workflow coordination and streamlining optimization utilizing technology; integration of mergers, acquisitions and new personnel; procurement of firm and client related expenditures; human resources management, development and training; and facilities management, subleasing and outsourcing.  She supports the attorneys, practice areas and clients through project management, assists with the development and promotion of firm policies and procedures, manages and leads several client projects, and advances the firm’s diversity initiatives as an active member of the Diversity Council.  She works with the firm’s Management Committee to advance the firm’s strategic goals and growth initiatives.

Professional Background

For more than 20 years, Ms. Swetland has held a number of professional positions with Harris Beach.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in business administration and accounting from the State University of New York at Brockport. 

Professional & Community Activities

Ms. Swetland is actively involved in a variety of charitable and community organizations.  She is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators and past president of the association’s New York City chapter.  She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Legal Practice Management Committee.  She is the principal, author and editor of “Best Practices in Legal Management,” published by the New York State Bar Association.
