Ms. Oldfield is a member of the firm. She practices in the Public Finance and Economic Development Practice Group and serves on the Health Care and Financial Institutions and Capital Markets Industry Teams.  Ms. Oldfield practices as a corporate and public finance lawyer with a special focus on health care, higher education and banking. In the general corporate area, she counsels on matters of general business law and formation of business entities, including corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships, and handles transactional matters including contracts, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions and asset sales and purchases, private placements.

In the public finance area, Ms. Oldfield serves as bond counsel and represents underwriters, borrowers and credit enhancers in financing transactions. Her practice focuses on bond financing transactions for state and local government agencies primarily in the areas of health care, higher education, utility infrastructure, tax-exempt organizations, and industrial development projects.

In the health care arena, in addition to her public finance work, Ms. Oldfield’s corporate experience includes hospital mergers, hospital conversions, negotiation of contracts for purchase and implementation of technology systems and new technology for medical equipment systems, equipment purchase and leasing transactions, consortium or collaborative arrangements for institutions to share resources, consulting agreements, financing transactions, private placements, and medical staff bylaws and corporate organizational documents.

For financial institutions, Ms. Oldfield counsels on regulatory issues and operations, capital structure, organizational structure including holding company formation, charter establishment and conversion, branching, non-banking activities, affiliates and investments, and handles transactional matters including letters of credit, leasing and corporate lending, loan participations and mortgage-backed securities.

Before joining Harris Beach, Ms. Oldfield spent two years as a confidential law assistant for the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court, Fourth Department, and in 1984 she served as chief law assistant for that court.

Professional & Community Activities

Ms. Oldfield is a member of the American and Monroe County Bar Associations and National Association of Bond Lawyers. She has served as treasurer and trustee of the Monroe County Bar Association and as a member of the Board of Governors of its Academy of Law.

In addition to many past and present community activities, Ms. Oldfield is now serving as a member of the Business Advisory Council for the Jones School of Business of the State University of New York at Geneseo, a member of the Board Directors of Compeer, Inc., a member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Home of Rochester Senior Housing, Inc., and a member of the Board of Directors of the Rochester Eye Bank. She is also a member of Leadership Rochester, Class of 1993.
