Marybeth E. Frantz
Associate
Ms. Frantz is an associate of the firm and practices in the Public Finance and Economic Development and Tax Law Practice Groups and serves on the Automotive and Vehicles Industry Team. She focuses her practice on federal and state tax law in the areas of municipal law and state and local finance law, with particular emphasis on tax-exempt financings and corporate tax matters. In the area of public finance, Ms. Frantz has assisted with numerous tax-exempt bond financings and has experience conducting tax due diligence review and drafting primary financing documents, resolutions, certificates, and opinions. Ms. Frantz also has experience in representing individual and corporate clients before the Internal Revenue Service and the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.
Ms. Frantz has served as an attorney in the tax-exempt bond branch at the Office of Chief Counsel (Financial Institutions and Products), Internal Revenue Service, where she was responsible for drafting published guidance (including the final regulations regarding the definition of solid waste disposal facilities), private letter rulings and technical advice memoranda. Ms. Frantz also served as the Chief Counsel representative to the Tax-Exempt Bond Focus Group, where she provided assistance to IRS agents in connection with bond audits.
Professional & Community Activities
Ms. Frantz is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and the American Bar Association. She attended Seton Hall on a Presidential Merit Scholarship.
