Mr. Masino is a member of the firm and its management committee. He practices in the Mass Torts and Industry‑Wide Litigation and Insurance Litigation and Product Liability DefensePractice Groups. Selected as one of the Best Lawyers in America, Mr. Masino’s legal practice focuses on the litigation of high exposure and value civil cases involving toxic exposures, motor vehicle accidents, products liability, commercial disputes, labor law claims and construction accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, and mass torts and industry-wide litigation. Mr. Masino has conducted nearly 20 trials to verdict in state and federal courts and dozens of successful mediations and arbitrations. He specializes in catastrophic injury cases involving head and brain injury, paralysis, neurological deficits, cancers of the lung, colon and esophagus, and significant orthopedic trauma. His product liability experience includes cases involving seat belts, industrial presses, automotive engine cooling fans, food processing equipment and toxic substances including asbestos and lead. He has also handled a broad range of complex commercial disputes for companies of various sizes.
Mr. Masino’s complex litigation experience includes Daubert and Frye issues where he draws on his knowledge of medical, technical and scientific disciplines including toxicology, epidemiology, oncology, pathology, pulmonology, occupational health, industrial hygiene, accident reconstruction, roadway design, vocational rehabilitation, economics, life care planning and forensics.
Mr. Masino’s experience also extends to the firm’s Criminal Law Practice Group; he has represented hundreds of defendants facing criminal charges.
Professional & Community Activities
Mr. Masino has served as the firm’s chairperson for its United Way campaign. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Hobart College Athletic Association and has been active as a youth sports coach in the Fairport community. Mr. Masino is a member of the New York State and Monroe County Bar Associations.
