Mr. Schaefer focuses his practice on the defense of toxic tort, products liability and negligence actions, including cases involving allegations of exposure to asbestos, pesticides, household chemical products and toxic mold. Many of these cases have involved complex issues involving medicine, epidemiology and science. Mr. Schaefer has defended cases pending in state and federal courts in both New York and New Jersey.

In addition to his work on chemical exposure actions, Mr. Schaefer is presently assisting in the representation of an equipment leasing company in actions for products liability, negligence and wrongful death claims involving accidents at construction sites. In the past, he has also represented trucking companies for various types of actions.

This broad range of Mr. Schaefer's practice has led him to develop knowledge in such areas as medicine, epidemiology, mechanical engineering and product design, all of which have played crucial roles in developing defenses.
