Sara E. Visingard
Associate
Ms. Visingard is an associate of the firm. She practices in the Labor and Employment Law Practice Group and serves on the Educational Institutions Team. Ms. Visingard focuses her practice on the research and analysis of significant employment claims, and on representing employers in all aspects of labor and employment law including federal and state discrimination laws, wage and hour law, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and issues relating to employee termination and discipline. She also represents and counsels educational institutions on personnel relations and discipline, student discipline matters, special education and disability issues, residency issues, discrimination and contract matters, Office of Civil Rights complaints, transportation matters, governmental regulations, board of education procedures, student records and privacy rules, and contested matters before state and federal courts and administrative agencies, including the New York State Department of Education and Federal District Courts.
Professional & Community Activities
Ms. Visingard is a member of the New York State and Monroe County Bar Associations. She is also a member of Rotary International (Fairport). Ms. Visingard is a member of the firm’s Rochester office Community Involvement Committee, which assists in organizing and fostering attorney and administrative personnel participation in community-related and charitable events.
She is also a member of the Fairport Rotary Club and serves as the Club's Membership Committee Chair and on its Board of Directors. In 2009, Ms. Visingard received a Paul Harris Fellow Award from the Fairport Rotary Club in recognition of her service to the Club and to the community. In 2010, Ms. Visingard was selected an Up and Coming Attorney by The Daily Record. She is also a 2011 recipient of the Rochester Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award, awarded annually to a select group of young leaders that have made a significant civic and professional contribution to the Rochester community.
