Thomas S. Abbott
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Abbott is chief financial officer at Harris Beach directing all of the financial operations throughout the firm.  He works with the firm’s Management Committee to advance the firm’s strategic goals and growth initiatives.

Mr. Abbott oversees the firm’s financial functions in the areas of accounting, billing, collecting, budgeting and analysis.  He also directs the many financing relationships that the firm has with financial institutions.  Mr. Abbott also provides financial support and direction in merging other firms and attorneys with Harris Beach.

Professional Background

Mr. Abbott has more than 28 years of professional financial and management experience.  Prior to joining Harris Beach, he served for 10 years as the controller of another prominent law firm based in Rochester, New York and five years in public accounting prior to that.  Mr. Abbott holds a Bachelor of Science from Rochester Institute of Technology.  

Professional & Community Activities

Mr. Abbott is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, a member of Financial Executives International, The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Abbott is actively involved in a variety of community and civic organizations.  He is a member of the Hilton Central School’s District Improvement Team and a past board member and treasurer of Love the Children of Rochester.
