Timothy J. Harris
Consultant

Mr. Harris is manager of the Harris Beach Collections Department, composed of a team of attorneys and supporting staff that handles all areas of retail, consumer and commercial collections, both contested and uncontested.  Mr. Harris is recognized as a senior-level executive and financial expert who led the Rochester Credit Center to become a top-producing, community-focused organization.  Through his leadership at the Rochester Credit Center as President from 2000 to 2007, and ultimately CEO from 2003 to 2009, Mr. Harris drove major turnaround, restructuring, and sales initiatives that generated multimillion-dollar revenue.  During his tenure as CEO, he facilitated the sale of the Collection operation to Collecto, which was finalized in December of 2008.  Mr. Harris positioned the Rochester Credit Center for sale through solid operations and integrity-based sales practices.  He launched his career with the Rochester Credit Center in 1982.

Mr. Harris is well-versed in start-up to large corporate business practices and he is able to leverage solid financial principals and fundamentals in any environment.  The foundation of his experience is his ability to develop strategic plans that connect responsible, yet enterprising financial solutions that strengthen bottom-line profits. Through his solid financial direction, the Rochester Credit Center went from $1.4 million in losses to more than $300,000 in revenue. He achieved this by gaining the support of the Board of Directors, which led to key technological, efficiency, and corporate culture turnaround.  He has administered budgets of up to $8 million and reduced operating expenses by 26 percent.

Mr. Harris managed the Rochester Credit Bureau’s financial and operational transitions through three acquisitions.  As the Credit Bureau’s CFO, in 1996, he led the sale of the account database and to Equifax for $7.8 million.  In 2004, he played a key role in the $1.4 million sale of the Credit Bureau’s Mortgage Processing Division to Kroll Factual Data.  He has learned how to effectively utilize a company’s assets to gain the greatest return on investment, while ensuring current employees are properly restructured.
