Douglas Gerhardt will join a panel of speakers for a webinar on the topic of Issues for Advocates, Hearing Officers and Schools, being hosted by the American Arbitration Association.

A description of the program is below:

Teacher misconduct matters under New York State Education Law Section 3020a, present school officials and union representatives with uniquely challenging issues. Often, both sides must weigh the risks of whether to call students, parents and other teachers to testify in hearings. Those same issues must then be competently and sensitively addressed by the hearing officers. During this virtual classroom the faculty will address the grounds for disciplining teachers, the investigation, pre hearing interviews and discovery issues as well as how to advocate during the hearing.
