Harris Beach will sponsor the 36th Annual IPPNY Spring Conference on May 17 – May 18.
Bill Flynn, leader of the Harris Beach energy industry team, John McManus, partner on the energy industry team and other attorneys will be attending the conference. A description of the focus of this year’s conference is below.
Clean Energy is at the forefront of New York’s energy and environmental policy with goals of 70 percent renewable generation by 2030, 9,000 megawatts (MW) of offshore wind by 2035 and 3,000 MW of storage by 2030 with a zero-emitting electric sector by 2040. This year’s Spring Conference will feature California ISO President & CEO Elliot Mainzer as this year’s keynote speaker. The event will also feature discussions on how we can meet these goals while maintaining reliability in the power grid featuring speaker Johannes Pfeifenberger of the Brattle Group, New York ISO President & CEO Rich Dewey and a panel discussion on offshore wind and battery storage moderated by NYSERDA President & CEO Doreen Harris.
Hear directly from State leaders as we implement the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. New York State Public Service Commission Chairman Rory Christian will get the morning started with an update on the Commission’s priorities moving forward and New York State Senate and Assembly Energy Chairs Senator Kevin Parker and Assemblymember Michael Cusick will be on hand to provide a legislative update as well.
