In this episode, Beth Wilkens recounts and reflects on her legal career at a time when few women were admitted to the practice and fewer still were earning partnership. The specialties she selected – bankruptcy, corporate law, securities, banking and finance – put her in the midst of a male-dominated client base; but Beth viewed this as an advantage rather than an obstacle. Beth has had successful long-term relationships counseling prominent organizations, and served on boards to play key leadership roles for the Rochester community.
As a partner in the Corporate Practice Group and member of the Financial Institutions and Capital Markets Industry Team, Beth has received several honors this past year, including Pro Bono Hero of the Year and Dealmaker of the Year. Next month, she will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Daily Record, a newspaper serving the legal community in Western New York.
