The New York Department of Health (DOH) presented a webinar on June 15, 2023, on Medicaid’s 2023-2024 budget. The session included a copy of the Fiscal Year 2024 Medicaid Scorecard, which identified how Medicaid funds are planned to be spent during the current and following fiscal years, an overview of how budget actions will impact hospitals, nursing homes, long-term care, managed care and pharmacy services, and the Essential Plan (non-Medicaid program for those who exceed the Medicaid income threshold).
The link to DOH’s website includes not only the slide presentation, but also a recording of the June 15th program. Both are available under the heading 2023-2024 Budget, as is the Medicaid Budget Scorecard for the Enacted Budget (these two slides are also included in the presentation.) The Scorecard is how DOH, the Governor’s Office, the Division of the Budget and the Legislature track the financial impact of changes made to the Medicaid Program.
