On January 31, 2023, the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (“OMIG”) published a series of Guidance documents on its website that address the following:
- Provider Compliance Programs
- Self-Disclosure
- Medicaid Managed Care Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Prevention Programs
OMIG advises that the guidance materials are intended to assist providers as they implement the statutory and regulatory requirements covered by the guidance documents.
Harris Beach is planning webinars in 2023 to address points raised in the guidance documents and how the firm can assist providers in implementing and operating the compliance programs and self-disclosure processes required in Social Services Law section 363-d Provider Compliance Program, as well as OMIG’s adopted regulations at Part 521 Fraud, Waste and Abuse Prevention.
Please contact Matthew Babcock at mbabcock@harrisbeach.com if you would like to engage Harris Beach to review your compliance plan or to review your self-disclosure procedures in light of the new regulations.
