Harris Beach Attorney Lisa Powers recently appeared on a podcast to discuss several aspects of elder law.

Appearing on “Real Conversations About Aging Parents,” Lisa discussed how she started in elder law more than 25 years ago, how an elder care attorney can help a family, and the importance of planning. She noted the difference between an estate planner (more focused on death and taxes) and an elder care attorney (holistic counsel).

She then tackled a variety of subjects, including the different types of trusts, red flags for vulnerable elders, and how and why to approach difficult subjects, such as leaving the family home.

Lisa is a member of Harris Beach’s Wills, Trusts and Estates Practice Group. She specializes in elder law, estate planning and estate and trust administration. She is a certified personal finance expert and has developed essential tools for the caregivers she consults.
