With a surge in website privacy class-action lawsuits, health care providers are urged to toughen their cyber security defenses to avoid violating the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), according to Partner Alan Winchester.

His article looks at the topic of “pixel” codes that track website behavior, and the risk they pose of having sensitive health information inadvertently transmitted to social media sites.
