Delta Airlines recently instituted a $200 monthly surcharge on employees who choose not be vaccinated against COVID-19. News of that decision has resulted in a surge of interest from employers looking for ways to incentivize their workers to get the shot, Rochester associate Dan Palermo told the Rochester Business Journal. Dan, a member of our Labor and Employment practice group, was quoted in an article on the subject published to the newspaper’s website on Sept. 2. It’s hard to say whether surcharges will become widespread, Dan told the RBJ, but they are most likely going to face legal challenges.
