Glenn M. Jones, a litigator with decades of experience counseling clients on complex regulatory proceedings and criminal and civil investigations in healthcare and other industries, has joined Harris Beach PLLC as partner.
Glenn has an extensive background as a lawyer in both private practice and public service addressing legal matters concerning white-collar crime, fraud, regulatory violations and compliance.
He has defended individuals and organizations on issues involving the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, New York Attorney General, New York State Department of Financial Services and other federal, state and local agencies. His experience includes matters alleging violations of the Stark Act, the False Claims Act, the Anti-Kickback Statute, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and numerous other compliance regulations.
“Glenn deepens the legal talent of Harris Beach in addressing difficult matters concerning government compliance and investigations, especially in healthcare,” said Partner Terry Flynn, a former U.S. Attorney for the Western District of New York who leads the Harris Beach Government Compliance and Investigations Group.
“Our attorneys have broad-based experience across federal, state and local jurisdictions, representing public and private sector companies and individuals. Like Glenn, many of our attorneys formerly held significant positions in government, addressing many of the same matters. We’re excited that Glenn chose Harris Beach for the next stage of his career.”
Prior to joining Harris Beach, Glenn served as Partner and Chair of the Health Care Fraud and Regulatory Enforcement practice at a mid-sized law firm in New York City. He also worked for two firms in Washington, D.C. in business litigation, white-collar crime, government investigation/enforcement and health care practice groups, and operated his own practice.
Glenn spent eight years as a New York State Special Assistant Attorney General for Medicaid Fraud. During that time, he earned the Louis J. Lefkowitz Award, the highest honor given by the New York State Attorney General for outstanding performance by an attorney in pursuit of the public good.
Earlier in his career, he served as a trial attorney with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, where he investigated and prosecuted fraud and other civil enforcement actions. Glenn also spent time in the asset forfeiture and narcotics units in the New York County District Attorney’s office following his graduation from the Northwestern University School of Law.
