Kelly Jones Howell, a partner of Harris Beach PLLC, has been recognized by DRI, the leading organization of civil defense attorneys and in-house counsel, for her dedication and commitment to young lawyers.
Ms. Jones Howell is the 2018 recipient of the Richard J. Krochock Award, which goes to an individual who provides exemplary guidance, support and mentorship to the Young Lawyers Committee of DRI and promotes the public image of a civil defense lawyer. The award was presented to Ms. Jones Howell as part of the DRI Annual Meeting Oct. 17-21 in San Francisco.
Ms. Jones Howell has played a leadership role at DRI for several years. She has served as chairwoman of the Young Lawyers Committee and as a member of the DRI Drug and Medical Device Steering and Products Liability committees.
Working from the Harris Beach New York City office, Ms. Jones Howell has a national litigation practice focusing on product liability with significant experience managing pharmaceutical, medical device and dietary supplement cases. She regularly serves as national coordinating counsel and New York/New Jersey counsel defending clients in state and federal courts, state-coordinated mass torts, class actions and federal multi-district litigation (MDLs), involving FDA and EPA regulated products.

The hours are long and the expectations high,” Ms. Jones Howell said. “Early in my career, many people helped me get established and provided a guiding hand.
