Associate Meaghan Feenan has been selected to receive the Honorable Judith S. Kaye Commercial and Federal Litigation Scholarship from the New York State Bar Association. The scholarship will enable Meaghan to participate in this year’s NYSBA Commercial Litigation Academy. Only five scholarships are awarded statewide. Meaghan is a member of the Business and Commercial Litigation and Wills, Trusts and Estates practice groups at Harris Beach.
The goal of the Kaye scholarship is to increase the number of women prepared to serve as first chair in large-scale commercial litigation. Judge Kaye was the first woman to serve as Chief Judge of the New York State Court of Appeals, the state’s highest court. She was also the state’s longest serving chief judge.
The Commercial Litigation Academy is sponsored by NYSBA and the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section. Meaghan and other Kaye Scholars will be presented with their awards on April 22, 2021 during a program scheduled to take place in the Ceremonial Courtroom at the Southern District of New York.
