Harris Beach Partner Jared Kasschau, co-leader of our Political Law Practice Group joined a Continuing Legal Education panel titled, “Lessons from 2022: Voter Protection Results and for 2024.” Organized by the New York Democratic Lawyers Council, the panel included the president of the Brooklyn NAACP, Chair of the Independent Redistricting Commission, Counsel for Vote Early NY, the Executive Director of the Center for Law and Social Justice at Medgar Evers College, Founder of the institute of Latino Politics and Policy and an adjunct Professor at New York Law School.
The panel presented on reform efforts aimed boosting participation in our elections and preserving the voting franchise including how to improve communication and coordination between voter protection groups, volunteers and officials at local Boards of Elections.
