The Electoral College is a curiosity of American elections that is getting more attention this year than most. Members met Monday, Dec. 14 in all 50 states and the District of Columbia to cast their votes for our next president, based on the results of the Nov. 3 election. This year, Tom Garry, managing partner of our Long Island office, served as one of New York’s 29 electors for President-elect Joseph R. Biden. He and the other New York electors, including Bill and Hillary Clinton, cast paper ballots for president and vice president in a brief meeting of New York’s Electoral College in Albany. Long Island Business News recently spoke to Tom about the Electoral College process. During this election season, Tom served as New York counsel to the Biden campaign.
