Harris Beach has a strong community presence and commitment through local offices in New York, while also applying our capabilities statewide. Our clients appreciate our proximity as we draw upon resources from across the firm, whether they require regional, national or international solutions.
Strength in Community
Our firm cares deeply about Ithaca, and all the communities in which we live and work. The vitality of our communities depends on the engagement of residents, the diversity of citizens, and the support of organizations and institutions. Our firm makes community support one of our highest priorities and encourages attorneys and staff to do the same.
Across the Tompkins County and Finger Lakes region, Harris Beach has developed valued partnerships with non-profit organizations and cultural institutions and supported a wide range of initiatives and projects important to the community.
In recent years, we served as a sponsor, partner and supporter to Racker, a 70-year-old non-profit that provides a range of support services to individuals with disabilities. We have been an ongoing sponsor of Racker Rivals Big Red, an annual fundraising charity hockey game that involves community leaders and players from the NHL and Cornell University. The money helps fund programs at Racker.
Our Ithaca attorneys and staff have also supported a range of community institutions and programs, such ASPCA, the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, the Ithaca Children’s Garden, the Alcohol & Drug Council of Tompkins County and others.
Community caring requires active engagement. Our most valuable resource at Harris Beach is our people, and we believe our communities benefit when tapping into that resource. Our attorneys and staff serve on committees and on the boards of directors for corporations, hospitals, museums, shelters and other institutions.
Harris Beach attorneys also serve their communities by donating their time to take on pro bono cases, as we strongly believe in the importance of making the justice system accessible all.
