Harris Beach has a strong community presence through local offices in New York, but we apply our capabilities across the state. Our clients recognize the value in our ability to draw upon our legal and consulting resources from across the firm, whether their needs require regional, national or international solutions.
Strength in Community
Harris Beach cares deeply about Rochester and the surrounding communities in which we live and work. Our Rochester Office makes community support one of its highest priorities and encourages attorneys and staff to do the same.
The Rochester Office Community Involvement Committee, comprised of attorneys and professional staff, has been active since 2000. The Committee was formed to coordinate our support of community organizations and initiatives with “grassroots” efforts in Greater Rochester.
Twice a year, the Rochester Office takes to the streets (literally) and cleans Garnsey Road in Pittsford as part of its commitment to the Monroe County Adopt-A-Highway program. Recent fundraisers raised awareness and funds for The Trevor Project, the Rochester Chapter of the National Kidney Foundation, the Shepard Home, 13Thirty and Catholic Family Center of Rochester.
Harris Beach in Rochester has also developed valued partnerships with not-for-profit organizations and cultural institutions and supported a wide range of initiatives and projects important to the community. We are a long-standing sponsor of the annual Greater Rochester Jazzfest, which draws hundreds of thousands of visitors into our community for world-class music that makes our downtown streets come alive.
Harris Beach has also been a friend, partner and supporter of the 50-year-old Rochester Boys and Girls Clubs, which provides programs and support for at-risk children and families in the downtown area. Our team has donated both time, talents and money to help the organization serve its constituents and stakeholders.
We have also invested time and money into initiatives of the Strong National Museum of Play, the Rochester Museum and Science Center and the Susan B. Anthony House and Museum, among many others. These are the institutions that define this or any community.
Community caring requires active engagement. Our most valuable resource at Harris Beach is our people, and we believe our communities benefit when tapping into that resource. Our attorneys and staff serve on committees and on the boards of directors for numerous corporations, hospitals, museums, shelters and other charitable organizations.
Among the many organizations that have benefitted from our committed leadership over time area the Boys and Girls Clubs, the Urban League, Rochester Regional Health, Foodlink, the YMCA of Greater Rochester, Lollypop Farm, WXXI Public Broadcasting, Coordinated Care Services Inc., National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (New York), Nativity Preparatory Academy, Monroe County Bar Association Foundation and more.
In addition to the above, many of the Rochester Office based attorneys and staff initiate grass-roots campaigns by coaching youth sports teams, and organizing fundraisers for charitable organizations and teams for fundraising walks that benefit families in need. Harris Beach attorneys also serve their communities by donating their time to take on on pro bono cases, as we strongly believe in the importance of making the justice system accessible to all.
