Harris Beach has a strong community presence through local offices in New York, but we apply our capabilities across the state. Our clients recognize the value in our ability to draw upon our legal and consulting resources from across the firm, whether their needs require regional, national or international solutions.
Strength in Community
Harris Beach cares deeply about Syracuse and all the communities in which we live and work. The vitality of all communities depends on the engagement of residents, the diversity of citizens and the support of organizations and institutions. Our firm makes community support one of our highest priorities and encourages attorneys and staff to do the same.
In the greater Syracuse area, Harris Beach has developed valued partnerships with not-for-profit organizations and cultural institutions and supported a wide range of initiatives and projects important to the community.
Our Syracuse office has been actively engaged in the area’s Say Yes to Education program and spearheaded the founding of the program’s free legal clinics for the students and families of the Syracuse City School District. Central New York is home to a vast military veteran population and our Syracuse office launched a first-of-its kind community-based veteran’s reintegration initiative in the region.
Harris Beach Syracuse attorneys and staff have also directed support to important community institutions and organizations such as David’s Refuge, American Red Cross, Volunteer Lawyers Project of Onondaga County and Catholic Charities.
Community caring requires active engagement. Our most valuable resource at Harris Beach is our people, and we believe our communities benefit when tapping into that resource. Our attorneys and staff serve on committees and on the boards of directors for corporations, hospitals, museums, shelters and other institutions. Among the many organizations that have benefitted from our committed leadership over time include Centerstate CEO, Manufacturer’s Association of New York, Elmcrest Children’s Center, Advocates Inc., the American Red Cross and many others.
Many of the law firm’s attorneys and staff initiate grass-roots campaigns by coaching youth sports teams and organizing fundraisers for charitable organizations. Participation enables individuals to take ownership of an activity and allows them to pursue their own interests outside of the office. We also organize teams for fundraising walks and rally behind personal causes that may benefit families in need. Harris Beach attorneys also serve their communities by donating their time to take on on pro bono cases, as we strongly believe in the importance of making the justice system accessible to all.
