Alex draws from a diverse background while representing clients in mass torts litigation, commercial litigation, products liability, and toxic tort cases. Alex represents manufacturers, landlords, and businesses, working with them to develop and implement litigation strategies in numerous jurisdictions and overseeing day-to-day management of cases in state and federal courts across the country.  He frequently defends construction companies and property owners in cases involving construction site accidents in litigation filed under New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240(1), and 241(6).

Prior to joining Harris Beach, Alex served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Tort Division of the New York City Law Department. He defended municipal agencies in a variety of civil actions, including premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, police actions, school supervision, toxic exposure, and alleged governmental misconduct. Alex’s experience representing the City of New York helped him develop skills to handle a diverse array of civil actions swiftly and on favorable terms for his clients.

Alex previously served as a legal intern for the Hon. Magistrate Judge Gary Brown, Eastern District of New York.

  • Member of team defending manufacturer against products liability suits alleging that use of manufacturer’s solvent caused various illnesses
  • Member of team defending breweries and other commercial retailers of alcoholic beverages in Dram Shop Act actions and personal injury claims. Team secured dismissal of wrongful death case and affirmance by New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division—Second Department.
  • Member of team defending Manhattan property owners in actions claiming breach of contract, breach of implied warranty of habitability, and personal injuries.
  • Defends elevator company in civil litigation involving alleged breach of contract and negligent maintenance. Routinely takes and defends depositions and drafts affirmative and dispositive motions.
