Paulo focuses his practice on commercial real estate and corporate law, where he provides strategic counsel to clients on both day-to-day legal concerns and specific commercial transactions. A growing part of his practice involves providing general corporate counsel to FinTech companies working with digital assets, including Blockchain and other new technologies in the delivery of financial services.
Commercial Real Estate
Paulo counsels clients on contracting and financing transactions, including real estate development projects of all sizes and at varying stages. Paulo has experience working with real estate developers, engineers, architects, institutional and private lenders, government leaders, property owners/managers, and commercial tenants in real estate transactions from New York City to the Hamptons.
Corporate Law
Paulo represents businesses at all phases of their business development, including corporate governance, financial transactions, regulatory compliance issues and strategic partnerships/planning. He advises clients on prospective and ongoing litigation matters, and assists with the implementation of proactive measures to reduce exposure to liability.
Paulo advises clients in various matters related to cryptocurrency, digital assets, Blockchain technology and development of FinTech products/services.
During his time in law school, Paulo gained valuable experience serving the senior law clerk to the real estate and corporate law groups at a boutique New York City law firm. He also interned at the civil housing division of the New York City Legal Aid Society through his law school’s Tenants’ Rights Advocacy clinic where he represented indigent clients in housing court. He also completed a fellowship with the New York City Mayor’s Office. He is fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish.
