Deana joins our Business and Commercial Litigation Practice Group to provide counsel to domestic and international businesses of all sizes and at all stages of growth. She represents clients in all aspects of litigation, handling banking litigation, business disputes, business breakups and divorces, breach of contract claims, commercial class actions, commercial landlord/tenant disputes, consumer protection defense, Telephone Consumer Protection Act defense, New York Lemon Law, probate and estate litigation, real property litigation, shareholder disputes, and claims of tortious interference and unfair competition. She also collaborates with our Appellate, Government Compliance and Investigations, and Wills, Trusts and Estates practice groups. Deana works out of Harris Beach’s Albany office.
Deana graduated summa cum laude from Albany Law School in 2023 with her Juris Doctor. She was the winner of the Karen C. McGovern Senior Prize Trials Competition and was recognized individually as the competition’s Best Oral Advocate. She was also a finalist in the law school’s Domenick L. Gabrielli Appellate Advocacy Competition and won a Best Oral Advocate award and a Best Brief award. She is a member of the Order of the Barristers, an honor society for law school graduates that is limited to graduating law students and practicing lawyers who demonstrate exceptional skills in trial advocacy, oral advocacy and brief writing.
Deana previously received a Bachelor of Arts Degree, summa cum laude, from Saint Michael’s College in Burlington, Vermont, where she was inducted as a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, Phi Beta Kappa, and Delta Epsilon Sigma, representing the top percentile of her graduating class.
Deana’s extensive experience prior to graduating law school included serving as a judicial intern for the Honorable Daniel J. Stewart, United States District Court, Northern District of New York, and as a legal intern at the United States Attorney’s Office, Northern District of New York. She also served as a legal assistant at two law firms, and as an intern at the American Bar Association in Washington, D.C., and at the Greene County (NY) District Attorney’s Office.
Deana’s work includes developing case strategy in state and federal proceedings, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses, mediation statements, and settlement agreements, as well as review and production of documents and disclosures.
