Joseph’s practice involves the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in electronics, photonics, spintronics, plasmonics, physics, electro-optics and software. His pertinent knowledge includes handling matters involving microwave systems, solar cell technologies, integrated circuits, integrated systems, systems on a chip, integrated optics technologies, such as ophthalmic apparatus, including various types of scanning laser ophthalmoscopes and SLO components and systems, radio, RADAR and electronic sensors for corporations and universities. He also prosecutes applications in the mechanical arts, including spacecraft components, drones and UAV testing, high speed document systems, printer labels and tapes, hot water boilers, water heaters, and water sanitation systems, wearable medical systems, as well as knives, firearm related hardware, weapon storage systems, and firearm cleaning and maintenance components for firearms ranging from hand guns to military canons. He prepares advice letters to foreign counsel as well as invalidity and infringement opinions. Joseph also has experience in patent reexamination practice, and has provided litigation support including infringement evaluations. Prior to establishing his legal practice Joseph was an electrical engineer at Brookhaven National Laboratory for 13 years, where he designed and developed mixed signal electronic measurement and control systems used in applications ranging from very sensitive instruments to Mega Watt power supplies for particle accelerators. Preceding that, Mr. Geller served in the U.S. Coast Guard as an electrical engineer and Coast Guard Aviator flying HU-25A Falcon jets.
