Jeff focuses his practice on energy and environmental matters, large project development, and complex commercial litigation, including judicial and administrative trials and appeals. He has extensive experience representing major clients on their most important and technically complex matters, including transmission infrastructure development, conventional and unconventional oil and gas production and storage, climate change and other matters. Jeff’s clients include energy, utility, waste management, and other highly regulated companies on permitting, planning, government relations, regulatory compliance and analysis, governmental initiatives, commercial negotiations, land use, and litigation associated with renewable energy facilities and other projects.
In addition to his extensive experience before U.S. courts and regulators, Jeff has represented clients internationally, such as the world’s largest toy manufacturer on waste management issues, a major multinational energy company involved in Romanian hydraulic fracturing permitting and litigation, and a British energy company bidding for concessions on unconventional gas development throughout the United Kingdom. He has also represented international governments on cross-border environmental impact review for major infrastructure projects.
Jeff performs regular environmental, permitting, and land use due diligence for energy companies, infrastructure funds, commercial banks, and institutional investors in the development, financing, purchase, and sale of renewable generation projects.
In addition to his energy and environmental practice, Jeff has managed attorney teams in diverse commercial litigations in state and federal trial and appellate courts, including extensive experience in banking litigation.
