Ryan is an experienced litigator, skilled in all stages of a case from inception through verdict. Ryan formerly served as an Assistant Borough Chief/Senior Counsel in the Tort Division of the New York City Law Department, where he directly supervised a team of attorneys and paralegals litigating an active caseload of approximately 300 matters. While with the New York City Law Department, Ryan personally litigated various complex municipal tort claims involving premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, negligent supervision claims and civil rights claims under 42 U.S.C. §1983, including wrongful death cases.
Prior to joining the New York City Law Department, Ryan worked in private practice defending companies and individuals in all stages of state and federal civil litigation matters involving mass and toxic torts, motor vehicle accidents, labor law and premises liability.
While in law school, Ryan served as an Associate Publications Editor on the Buffalo Human Rights Law Review and was a member of the Buffalo Moot Court Board.
