Julie develops strategic economic development plans that capitalize on opportunities and incentives for public and private entities. Her economic development experience includes preparation of federal, state and local funding applications, grant writing and incentive identification, and corporate regulatory compliance services. She advises on economic development projects and helps to expedite those projects to completion. Julie supports the firm’s attorneys by acting as an intermediary between clients and governmental agencies. She assists clients with compliance matters including PAAA and PARA requirements.
Prior to joining Harris Beach, she served as business development and loan officer for PathStone Enterprise, Inc., where she helped small and micro businesses become a reality, and guided them with ongoing support of their operations.
Previous to her position with PathStone, Julie served as director of economic development for Livingston County and executive director of the county’s IDA and LDC. Her responsibilities included the development of sale-leaseback and commercial public sector loan transactions and the negotiation of specific terms of business financing proposals. Julie also oversaw the creation and implementation of the county’s downtown revitalization program. She prepared and administered numerous grant applications, administered the county’s HUD CDBG loan portfolio, including compliance reporting.
