Jessica focuses her practice on the defense of high-exposure liability actions, including cases with substantial risk of multi-million dollar verdicts or settlements. She has extensive experience in analyzing and managing cases and working with clients to develop litigation strategies to resolve them effectively, either through summary judgment, settlement or trial.
In 2022, Jessica was appointed by the Chief Administrative Judge of New York, Lawrence K. Marks, to serve on the Judicial Hearing Officer Selection Advisory Committee for the 10th Judicial District. Jessica is also the first Latina to serve Nassau County, the second-largest New York county by population outside of New York City, as Acting County Attorney and Chief Deputy County Attorney.
Jessica’s experience as a litigator also includes cases involving premises liability, automobile liability and New York labor law. She defends medical, dental and podiatric malpractice actions.
During Jessica’s tenure as Acting County Attorney and Chief Deputy County Attorney of Nassau County, she negotiated multimillion dollar settlements with large pharmaceutical companies in opioid litigations. She also litigated and settled high-profile civil rights matters and Fair Labor Standards Act matters, and negotiated resolutions of asbestos litigations.
As Chief Deputy County Attorney, Jessica briefed the Nassau County Legislature on settlements of high-profile litigation matters as they were presented for review and approval. Jessica coordinated the implementation of regulations, compliance and protocols for Nassau County in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prior to joining the Office of Nassau County Attorney, Jessica served as assistant borough chief and senior counsel of the Manhattan Bureau Tort Division in the New York City Law Department, where she led a team of attorneys defending New York in high-profile, high-exposure litigation, including personal injury, New York Labor Law and motor vehicle claims.
