Kristen defends manufacturers, distributors and retailers in products liability actions involving a range of consumer, industrial and FDA regulated products. She has an extensive focus on mass torts litigation concerning exposure to mixed chemicals and toxic chemical exposures.
Kristen’s practice has a national scope. She provides strategic and tactical legal advice to clients facing liability claims in state and local jurisdictions around the country, coordinating with local counsel to execute defense strategies and respond to motions and other case developments. Kristen has extensive familiarity with case law and products liability statutes in many states, allowing her to jump in to new matters and apply learnings quickly.
She is experienced in all phases of litigation through trial preparation, including taking and defending depositions, writing and arguing dispositive and discovery motions, attending court conferences, and negotiating settlement. She has successfully defended property owners, financial institutions, hospitals and other entities in premises liability, property damage, wrongful death, New York State Labor Law and other matters.
Kristen also practices extensively in the area of insurance coverage litigation. She advises insurance companies in defending coverage decisions, including evaluating insurance and reinsurance coverage, and resolving coverage disputes. Kristen’s insurance coverage practice also involves coverage analysis, claims monitoring and litigation services to help insurers and reinsurers protect their interests.
Kristen previously served as law clerk to the Hon. Janet Z. Smith of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Civil Division. While attending law school, Kristen was an honors law clerk with the Office of Civil Enforcement at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and a judicial intern at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, handling claims under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.
