Sara counsels public and private sector employers regarding all aspects of labor and employment law, including workplace investigations, federal and state anti-discrimination laws, wage and hour classification issues, the Family and Medical Leave Act and other leave laws, disability accommodation matters, the federal and state Fair Credit Reporting Acts, and issues relating to employee discipline. Sara frequently presents seminars and provides training sessions on employment-related issues. She also assists employers with the development and revision of employee handbooks and company policies.
Sara’s work includes the defense of clients against complaints brought in administrative forums, such as the State Division of Human Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the federal and state Departments of Labor. She also represents and counsels educational institutions with respect to student issues, day-to-day operational issues, board of education issues, and labor and employment matters.
Sara has completed mediator certification training through the Center for Dispute Settlement. She facilitates workplace conflict resolution sessions for private and public sector entities, including educational institutions.
