Lindsey advises employers on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including general practices, termination and disciplinary decisions and compliance with the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), Civil Service Law, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Title VII, Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), New York State Human Rights Law and other federal, state and local laws. Lindsey assists in defending management throughout litigation against claims of discrimination, workplace harassment and retaliation brought under Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA; and the various anti-discrimination and anti-retaliation provisions of the New York State Labor Law and New York State Human Rights Law. She also assists in the counseling and representation of employers in labor relations matters, including collective bargaining negotiations, labor arbitrations and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and state labor agencies. Additionally, Lindsey helps clients in the development of policies and employee handbooks.
She also contributes to the drafting of Harris Beach Legal Alerts on a wide range of topics, including earned sick time, telecommuting, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission guidance on religious dress and grooming practices, and NLRB rules.
Lindsey was a summer law clerk for Harris Beach in 2012. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a summer intern for Justice Randal B. Caldwell of the Oneida County Family Court. While in law school, she served as Senior Articles Editor of the Hofstra Law Review.
