Harris Beach attorneys are very highly motivated individuals with excellent communication and time management skills, a strong work ethic, top credentials and strong academic backgrounds. Harris Beach attorneys enjoy diversity in their caseloads and are adept at multitasking. Strong attorney candidates are actively involved in the community and have interests outside of the legal field. Summer, first-year and lateral associates are considered based on these qualities. A hiring committee, comprised of Harris Beach attorneys and our Human Resources recruiting team, oversees the hiring process for all legal positions. For information on submitting your resume, see the bottom of this page. Harris Beach has fostered significant growth through hiring new attorneys, merging practices with several firms and expanding our practice from within. Our attorneys have established the firm’s reputation for responsiveness, attention to detail, and considerate treatment and handling of client matters. Entry-level and lateral candidates are considered based on these same qualities. Candidates must be admitted or soon be admitted to the Bar in the state(s) in which they plan to practice and have strong research, writing, communication and organizational skills. Exemplary candidates are those that thrive in an environment where ideas, ingenuity and intelligence are highly valued. Harris Beach’s new associates participate in an extensive orientation and training program. We offer competitive salaries, expense allowance for bar review and bar exam fees, bar registration expenses and PDA reimbursement for all associates. Additional benefits include health insurance, 401(k) and profit-sharing plans, life insurance, short and long-term disability, vacation plus holidays and bonus program eligibility.
Assembling the right team to handle client matters and firm management is absolutely essential to making our legal services cost-effective to our clients. As with our attorneys, we apply the same high standards of strong academic backgrounds, solid experience and multitasking abilities to our selection of paralegals, administrative assistants, and administrative managers and staff. And with our diverse practice, staff professionals can be assured they will find their professional experiences with Harris Beach to be both challenging and rewarding. I came to Harris Beach as a lateral in 2009 and I immediately knew that I made the right decision to join the firm. Not only are the people here friendly, outgoing and always willing to lend a helping hand, they are smart, innovative and work collaboratively. It is this team concept that sets us apart and not only makes Harris Beach a great place to work, it is what allows us to have the reputation as being a firm that is responsive to its clients and able to provide quality legal and consulting services second to none.

I didn’t know what to expect when I got hired to work at the Beach but I was pleasantly surprised at the camaraderie and family aspect that’s very apparent especially in the IT Dept. Here at the Beach, you can think outside the box and not have to worry about public perception.

Harris Beach is uniquely positioned among law firms. We work in an atmosphere of ingenuity, entrepreneurial spirit and service, allowing us to foster strong connections within our firm and with the clients we serve. As a new attorney at the firm, mentoring and training are key parts of our associate development program, and it is has been personally rewarding for me to work with our associates and see them develop into key team members.
Harris Beach is unique in that attorneys at all levels have the opportunity to work on big projects for some of the nation’s largest companies — all while maintaining a collegial atmosphere. Whether starting as a summer associate or transitioning as an experienced practitioner, new attorneys will be part of a team working directly with partners and clients to help identify solutions.

I joined Harris Beach in 2008 after working in the public sector. When I first started at the firm I was concerned that the work might not be as exciting. I need not have been. Every day seems to bring a new and daunting challenge. I’m lucky to be part of a team that is not satisfied with the status quo and explores ways to find solutions to the complex problems that face our clients today.

There are many things that I like about working at Harris Beach. First and foremost, the people here make this a great place to work. Teamwork is paramount. Partners treat associates as future partners and are therefore truly invested in each associate’s development. Asking questions is always encouraged. There truly is an open-door policy here for all young attorneys. I have experienced all of this first hand. Attorneys and staff alike are always looking to lend a helping hand whenever needed. There are simply just great people here.
